This position reports to the Sales Manager based in Johannesburg,
Duties will be:
1 Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase market share and achieve revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the polymer industry, focusing on the importation and distribution of plastic raw materials
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- 2 Client Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- 3 Individual Contribution: Work independently with a proactive approach to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
- 1. Team Collaboration: While working individually, also contribute effectively to the broader team's success and goals.
- 5 Sales Administration:
- Prepare and manage sales contracts, quotations, and order processing.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales forecasts using CRM systems.
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure timely delivery of products and resolution of any issues.
- 6 Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor and report on sales performance, including sales metrics, targets, and forecasts.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Matric or equivalent; PREFERENCE IS FOR A tertiary qualification
- Experience: Minimum 4 + years of sales experience is preferable. Previous experience in SALES IN A SIMILAR industry is an advantage. Knowledge of the plastics raw materials and manufacturing industry or chemicals industry would be hugely advantageous
- Skills:
- Proven sales track record with strong negotiation and closing skills are beneficial
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in additional languages such as French or Portuguese is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Basic understanding of commercial/business procedures and principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM software.
- Transportation: Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
