MECHANICAL Engineer - Manufacturing
East Rand / Johannesburg East
The suitable person will work in the production engineering department at a well established company with international exports to various countries. Will work in function with regards to production, logistics and assembly processes.
Qualification and experience
- BEng - degree (Either electrical or mechanical engineering science)
- 3 years experience in mass production
- Proven technical capability in terms of developing and specifying Proceses,equiment to use and tooling requirements
Skills required and questions to be asked will include:
- Did you ever work in mass production before?
- Give examples where you have any technical capability in terms of developing and specifying Processes, Equipment and Tooling.
- Details/ examples where you had to solve technical aspects of manufacturing processes (such as injection moulding or electro-plating) unaided.
- Details / examples where you have confronted manufacturing problems that required your knowledge of Mechanical or electrical engineering theory.
- Can you please indicate if you have the following skills?
- Process and material development, specification and commissioning.
- Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction initiatives and exercises.
- Machine, Process and Tooling: proofing, capacity and capability studies.
- The position is a technical role not management orientated.
