My client is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent organisational skills, and a solid understanding of transport logistics.

As a Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of carrier pickups to ensure smooth shipment flow from fulfilment centres.
- Review and optimize carrier schedules to meet operational needs and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor carrier performance using key metrics such as on-time delivery, cost, and service quality.
- Conduct performance reviews and address issues with carriers as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Establish procedures for managing relationships between outbound teams and local parcel carriers.
- Resolve or escalate parcel operations exceptions efficiently.
- Prepare reports on carrier performance and cost analysis for senior management.
- Lead new client onboarding, including deployment of resources.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing carriers and identify new ones to expand the network.
- Manage and develop a team, ensuring alignment with goals and fostering collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in carrier operations.
- Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting carrier management.
- Work with internal stakeholders to align carrier performance with customer expectations.
- Address customer issues related to carrier performance promptly.
What do you need:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
- Masters degree (would be a plus)
- Very experienced with logistics, carrier operations
- Have great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well proven managerial and problem-solving skills.
