One of the largest rental companies is currently seeking a Credit Controller. My client is looking for a skilled professional to manage debtor accounts and ensure prompt payment of all invoices.
The role focuses on minimizing business risk by overseeing active accounts and managing credit terms and limits through effective payment collection. This includes addressing customer payment needs and professionally communicating outstanding balances, all while providing excellent customer service and reducing the risk of bad debt losses.
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct telephonic and electronic collections for all outstanding amounts.
- Meet a KPI of logging at least 32 customer contacts each day.
- Make regular customer visits to build strong relationships and proactively address potential issues.
- Achieve at least 100% of the monthly targeted collections.
- Investigate and document all queries related to outstanding accounts, following up and providing feedback to customers once resolved.
- Analyze overdue amounts to identify areas for improvement and address any problems.
- Provide regular reports and updates on problematic accounts, escalating issues to the Credit Manager within established timeframes.
- Process and allocate all payments received according to the daily bank statement and deposit slips, ensuring strict compliance with the customer's remittance advice.
- Prepare journals with supporting documentation and manage filing, record-keeping, and various administrative tasks.
- Effectively reduce bad debt and improve collection rates.
Qualifications:
Completed Matric
3+ Years' experience in the same role
Credit Management II, BCom in Finance, or similar tertiary qualification in Finance. – advantageous
Strong attention to detail
