Overview:
Our client is a prominent leader in the swimming pool, spa pumps and filters, aquaponics, hydroponics, and agriculture industries. They are looking for a Warehouse/Stock Controller to become part of their team. Established locally in South Africa, it is renowned for its exceptional product design, outstanding service, and reliable parts. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Skills required to perform the function:
- MS Excel and Word experience
- Prior experience in Warehousing/Stock Controlling
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in both English and Afrikaans
- Must be able to do forward planning and monthly budget analysis
Primary Duties:
- Run production process and ensure budget stock is manufactured and sent to Cape Town branch and Durban branch
- Ensure production quality standards are maintained
- Ensure machinery and tools are properly maintained and serviced
- General housekeeping
- Factory maintenance and up keeping is done internally and externally
- Ensure all stock is packed neatly and in the same place
- To Ensure that factory and building security is in place
- To assist with repairs if Repair technician requests the same
- To Ensure that all paperwork and procedures are followed in terms of Company procedures
- Ensure all warranties are submitted to suppliers or the Johannesburg office in accordance with company procedures
- To Ensure all stock is clean, new and free from any defects
- Ensure health and safety standards are implemented and followed
- Manage staff in the warehouse and production facility
- Do weekly stock takes
- Stock ordering from Suppliers as per budgets
- Ensuring budget expenses are maintained
- Controlling Freight expenditure and arranging of trucks to Cape Town and Durban branches
Secondary Duties:
- Communicate with staff and management to address account and customer issues
- Keep all filing up to date in terms of the company process flow
- Maintain Good Corporate Governance
- Report all irregularities, financial or otherwise, to the shareholders
- Ensure warehouse is kept clean inside and outside
- Ensure all staff clock in and out as per company procedure
General:
- The person must be a team player who is prepared to assist other employees when they are on leave or sick
- The person must have a strong character and be able to stand up for their point of view
- Must be able to interact with employers and employees who are demanding
- Be a proactive thinker, good planner,
and diligent about their work
- Maintains a high level of neatness and takes pride in the quality of their work
- Be able to work at the standard set by the company
- Must be prepared to work overtime as per operational requirements
- Must be willing to travel if requested (travel at this stage is very seldom if at all)
