Introduction
The Grid Engineer will lead the integration of renewable energy sources into our existing grid infrastructure and spearhead the development of private grids for renewable energy supply to processing plants. This role is pivotal in advancing our commitment to sustainable energy solutions and ensuring efficient and reliable energy delivery.

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous Eskom experience is essential
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in grid engineering, with a focus on renewable energy integration and private grid development.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, grid stability, and renewable energy technologies.
- Proficiency in using power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP).
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the energy sector.
- Have worked for or with Eskom in some capacity for a minimum of 10 years and is familiar with the grid system and network in South Africa.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in using project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including office settings, construction sites, and industrial facilities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- The position will be based primarily in an office environment with regular visits to project sites when required.
- Occasional extended hours and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
- The role is international and includes projects in South Africa, Peru, India and other locations.
