Our Engineering client is seeking a Junior Workshop and Service Technician to join their team in Durban. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on repairs and servicing of vacuum pumps and motors.
- Handle mechanical and electrical tasks including stripping, cleaning, testing, and rebuilding pumps.
- Provide exceptional customer service, liaising professionally to discuss fault finding, servicing, and repairs.
- Manage the sales process from inquiry to successful repair,
delivery, and payment.
- Travel to clients for onsite service and repairs.
- Maintain and update workshop processes, records, and data.
- Assist with deliveries, collections, and sourcing parts.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the workshop.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum: Grade 12 or N6 qualification.
- Preferred: Trade certification as Millwright or Fitter & Turner.
- 3-5 years of experience in a service workshop environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical experience, especially with pumps and motors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Pastel, and other relevant software.
