Introduction
An Established Accounting Firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join their firm. This role is predominantly remote, with weekly in-office check-ins and the potential for travel to clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Processing: Process client transactions using Pastel, including cashbooks, accounts payable, and receipts.
- Reconciliations: Manage and reconcile bank statements, creditors, and debtors (local and foreign).
- Asset Management: Maintain the asset register.
- VAT Processing: Perform VAT 201 submissions, reviews, and processing.
- Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts for various clients.
- Client Assistance:
Help clients reconcile their debtor and creditor accounts.
- Payments: Load supplier payments on the bank for clients.
- Financial Statements: Draft annual financial statements for a variety of clients, including companies, non-profits, individuals, and trusts.
Taxation & Compliance:
- Submit and review VAT 201 returns.
- Complete tax returns for companies, individuals, non-profit companies, and trusts.
- Calculate and submit dividend tax returns to SARS.
- Process supplementary declarations (IT 14 SD).
- Handle XBRL processing for CIPC.
Audits & Reviews:
- Compile annual financial statements.
- Perform independent reviews and audits as required.
- Travel to client sites may be required.
- Must be self-motivated with excellent time-management skills.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Proficiency in Pastel, Caseware, and Sage One.
- Solid understanding of company and individual tax laws.
- Experience with VAT submissions, tax returns, and annual financial statements.
- Familiarity with CIPC XBRL processing and audits.
- Qualifications:
- BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously.
