Introduction
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND ITC CHECKS WILL BE DONE.
Appointment: Permanent, full-time position.
Area: Centurion, Gauteng
Salary: Market related
Benefits: Provident Fund and December Bonus
Subordinates: SHE Reps, First Aiders, Fire Marshalls
To implement and ensure that all rules and regulations are followed according to the OHS Act No. 85 of 1993 and regulations.
Keeping all necessary staff members informed of any changes regarding the OHS Act.
To ensure that appropriate safety controls are implemented where necessary.
To act against any staff members that do not abide by the rules and regulations of the Act.
Responsible for organizing OHS training of employees and executives.
Design and deliver health and safety strategies and initiatives within the scope of the business.
Advising on the compliance of safety policies and document
To be an integral part of the SHEQ team
Qualifications and or Experience:
- Matric
- SAMTRAC certified
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Incident investigation certificate (Any level).
- Must possess the ability to deal with difficult situations.
- Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
- A good understanding of ISO standards (Specifically ISO 45001 and ISO 9001).
- Good administrative skills
Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation.
Recording and investigating incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
Performing emergency response drills and participating in emergency teams.
Inspecting equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
Ensuring that all registers are up to date and filed.
Warehouse inspections to ensure OHS regulations are being adhered to Conduct risk assessments when required
Snalyzing and generating applicable reports for various processes.
Communicate with necessary departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained in a positive and collaborative manner.
Support, comply and ensure compliance with the Health and Safety regulations, all the Companies policies and procedures, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures, etc.
Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
Anticipates and overcome obstacles.
Resilient, optimistic and open to change.
