Introduction

We are looking for a leader to co-ordinate our inventory requirements. This will be a middle management role that reports to the Operations Manager. We have a high paced, highly complex manufacturing environment, so critical thinking and problem solving skills are a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse Management

- Maintaining warehouse organised: the shelf labels as needed, products placed in correct place, colour coding implementation, FIFO.
- Ensure warehouse facilityhas a documented storage planogram
- All items must be stored it its designated place
- Ensure all items are stored on labelled shelves
- Ensure all open stock is consumed first, there should only be one batch opened at a time.






- Ensure stock is stored at per Warehouse location
- Ensure effective cleaning is maintained
- Ensure that applicable areas of formulations are accurately completed.
- Ensure that old pallets are used before using new pallets. Usable pallets, must be stored within the warehouse
- Management and control returnable packaging
- Manage waste and proactively remove waste.
- Ensure warehouse transfers are completed timeously
- Ensure zero non-conformances.

Equipment Management

- Equipment must be cleaned and stored in its designated area. Must be kept in good working order, any issues must be reported to the Manager. Equipment must be used in a proper manner.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained in a clean and working condition.
- Ensure that equipment is used in a proper manner and stored in its designated area.

Cleaning and Wastage Management

- Maintain good housekeeping. Store materials & items in the correct place, attend to spillages, broken pallets, etc. immediately. Maintain clean as you go.





Wastage must be disposed correctly.
- Ensure that cleaning is followed as per daily & weekly cleaning schedule.
- Ensure that good house keeping is maintained.
- Ensure clean as you go policy is maintained.
- Ensure that wastage is disposed of in the appropriate manner.

Stock Management

- - Ensure that stock counts are carried out daily & weekly as per requirements. Figure compare to system, and corrective action applied.
- Identify and address stock issues and variances
- Ensure no two of the same items are open at the same time
- Ensure stock if not allowed to expire, and consumed before expiry

FIFO and expired stock management

- Maintaining FIFO throughout raw material store area. Use oldest stock first.






- Ensure that robot system is adhered to.
- Ensure that green and red stickers are placed on all products.
- Ensure that stock with red stickers are not issued when we have open stock on the shelf.
- Ensure that FIFO is adhered to.

Picking Team management

- Oversee picking team and ensuring that rework instructions given daily are implemented.
- Ensure that raw materials are picked in advance.
- Ensure that raw material batch number matches the picking slip and batch number variances are approved by Warehouse co-ordinator.
- Ensure that raw materials are cleaned before returning them to the shelf.
- Ensure all items are picking using the system.

Product Shelf-life

- Ensure all product developed, are shelf-stable
- Ensure all products have indicated shelf-life






- Ensure oldest stock us consumed first
- Ensure all stock is packaging correctly to prevent instability.

Documentation Management

- Ensure receiving and dispatch documentation is completed correctly.

Sampling and Labelling

- Ensure samples and made and labelled correctly

Dispatch Management

- Manage dispatch and ensure that the departments are adhering to requirement and create a product process flow to document the process of receiving and dispatch.

Receiving Management

- Manage and ensure that the departments are adhering to requirement and create a product process flow to document the process of receiving and dispatch.

Material Sourcing

Raw material, packaging, consumable sourcing

Desired Experience & Qualification







Experience in inventory management in a manufacturing environment is a must. Candidates with only experience in logisitcs and distribution will not be considered.

The following is require:

1. Strong communication skills and the ability organise a team.
2. Strong delegation skills
3. At least 1 teritiary degree
4. Experience in this role for more than 3 years
5. Proven track record and contactable references
6. Be a team player and have the ability to problem solve.

Note: This is a management role and we will not be considering stock controllers.

Market related based on experience plus provident fund benefit
