To provide strategic and tactical leadership for the data management function in line with the organisational vision and strategy.

To lead and guide the development and utilisation of data systems within the organisation, implementation of policies and processes for ensuring effective data management, and efficient methods to organize, store and analyse data, while maintaining appropriate levels of security and confidentialit

To act as a key driver in optimizing data systems, unlocking valuable insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.

To use high-level skills in analytics, mathematics,





and statistics to draw conclusions according to the data, and report findings to executive management for use in various capacities throughout the organisation

Participate in departmental and relevant organisational strategic planning activities. ➢ Provide thought leadership with regards to the effective management of data and data systems.

Define and implement data standards, policies and procedures (guide policy and regulate compliance). ➢ Define data ownership and stewardship (including the data governance structures, roles and responsibilities). ➢ Define the data governance maturity model and scorecard. ➢ Design and implement the operating model, including governance and service level agreements for the function.





➢ Develop, implement, and manage the data management and automation policies, procedures and processes aligned to the overall business strategies. ➢ Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and applicable legislative and policy frameworks. ➢ Develop processes and techniques that enable the collection of relevant accurate data. ➢ Develop, implement, and manage procedures and processes relating to the security, legal handling and sharing of data. ➢ Analyse and interpret large amounts of data. ➢ Ensure training on all relevant data management and automation products and service users on the applicable compliance and governance requirements. ➢ Develop and implement a data risk management framework.





➢ Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, e.g., the Protection of Personal Information Act

(POPIA),Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA) and industry-specific requirements and conduct regular data security audits and risk assessments. ➢ Ensure timely compilation and submission of all the required reports (internal and external) to ensure compliance. ➢ Ensure effective data management, formulate quality data collection techniques, implement efficient and secure data handling and analysis procedures, and establish data sharing rules and proper governance. ➢ Monitor and analyse information and data systems, troubleshoot data-related problems, and ensure data security and integrity. ➢ Ensure data integration in the enterprise data warehouse.





➢ Work with the team to create efficient extract transform and load jobs to transform data. ➢ Ensure the day-to-day operation and management of data. ➢ Collaborate with expert teams to design and maintain data architectures that support business needs. ➢ Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies. ➢ Implement and manage master data management solutions for core data entities. ➢ Ensure consistent and accurate master data across the organization. ➢ Establish data quality standards and processes to maintain high data integrity. ➢ Lead data profiling, cleansing, and validation initiatives. ➢ Monitor and report on data quality metrics and drive continuous improvement. ➢ Develop and implement relevant artificial intelligence,





quantum computing and other new solutions for managing big data ➢ Analyse data (architect , extract , distribute and explore data). ➢ Visualise data - develop dashboards (present results, contextualise results, link problems with solutions, determine findings, identify limitations and operationalise patterns). ➢ Define business data analysis requirements - prepare data (select, construct and transform data). ➢ Define data retention and archiving policies, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. ➢ Manage data archival and disposal processes. ➢ Ensure adherence and compliance with the ATNS regulatory framework. ➢ Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses.





➢ Ensure training of all relevant data management and automation product and service users on the applicable compliance and governance requirements. ➢ Develop and manage strategic relationships with key product and service providers. ➢ Conclude SLAs with the various units to ensure business expectations are managed. ➢ Provide inputs to the departmental budget development process. ➢ Manage finances in line with business needs and priorities, and within set financial parameters. ➢ Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality of service. ➢ Identify and prevent irregular and fruitless and wasteful expenditure. ➢ Manage and co-ordinate the data management and automation team to ensure optimal deployment and development of skills.

B.Eng. or BSc in Computer Science or related field such as Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Data Management/ Information Systems/ Computer Science/Computer Studies/Information Technology/ Data Analytics/ Data Management/ Information Systems. ➢ Post graduate Degree in Computer Science or related field such as Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Data Management/ Information Systems/ Computer Science/Computer Studies/Information Technology/ Data Analytics/ Data Management/ Information Systems.





➢ Masters' degree in Computer Science/Computer Studies/ Information Technology/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/Engineering/ Data Management/ Information Systems or related studies will be an advantage
