Great opportunity for a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join this very dynamic organisation in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Large organisation seeking to add to their finance team a skilled Bookkeeper to assist with managing and reporting on the company's financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulary requirements.
Qualification:
- BA Degree or DIPLOMA in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) nice to have.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting and financial analysis.
Skills:
- Strong accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in financial software
- Advanced Microsoft EXCEL skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Duties:
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
- Ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards and or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and maintain budgetary controls
Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other financial legislation
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit readiness
Cost Management:
- Track and analyze costs related to bus operations,
maintenance and administration
- Identify opportunies to cost reduction and efficiency improvements
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes
Accounts Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments and collections
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
- Prepare financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and project financial outcomes
- Provide regular financial insights and reports to management
- Present financial results and insights to senior management and other stakeholders
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks,
auditors and tax authorities
General Bookkeeping and auditing duties relevant to a Senior Bookkeeper role also part of your responsibilities.
