Gijima Staffing Solutions is responding to a tender: Are you passionate about providing technical support? As a Desktop Technician, you will ensure that end-user devices are functional, secure, and meet the needs of staff and users.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in desktop support or technical support.
- Familiarity with desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to assist users of varying technical expertise.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in desktop support tools and ticketing systems preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support IT operations.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues; troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Hardware Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on desktop and laptop hardware; manage IT equipment inventory.
- User Training: Educate users on proper system and software use; create user documentation and FAQs.
- Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with IT security policies; assist in implementing security measures.
- Collaboration: Work with IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery.
- Documentation: Maintain records of support requests and generate reports on support activities.

- Primarily based in Tshwane, with flexibility to engage with various departments.
