Director Risk and Resilience

Requirements

- A relevant Bachelor’s degree is required and a relevant

Master’s degree is preferred.

- Eight (8) years’ extensive managerial experience

Key Performance Areas

- Direct the functional areas of integrated risk management

and business continuity management







- Lead the City’s co-ordinated response to prioritise,

maintain and recover critical services in response to acute

shocks that impact the continuity of the organisation

- Coordinate the City’s approach to integrated

risk management

- Direct the resilience and climate change coordinating

functions, inclusive of developing periodic climate

risks and hazards studies.

- Direct the monitoring of the implementation of the

Resilience Strategy, Climate Change Strategy and the

Climate Change Action Plan, and reporting thereof both

internally and externally.

- Provide professional support to other City departments

on mainstreaming climate change and urban resilience

responses into relevant by-laws, operations and sector

planning initiatives.

- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders,

including international partners, on topical issues, projects

and campaigns related to climate change, urban resilience

and risk management.
