Production Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join a dynamic hardware team. The successful candidate will coordinate data transfer between suppliers and developers, ensure effective communication on critical issues, support development and R&D; procurement, produce cost estimates, update data packs, conduct testing and debugging, and contribute to the design and optimization of production procedures and equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for:

1. Industrializing Hardware Designs: Optimize designs for scalability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness while addressing technical challenges during the transition from design to production.
2. Liaison Role:





Serve as the primary contact between suppliers and developers to facilitate communication on critical issues, particularly regarding engineering design changes and production adjustments.
3. Procurement Support: Assist with procurement activities for development and R&D;, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to align procurement needs with design and production objectives.
4. Cost Estimation: Generate and update cost estimates for development and production activities to contribute to accurate budgeting and financial forecasting.
5. Production Data Packs: Develop, maintain, and update production data packs, ensuring detailed manufacturing data and procedures are current and communicated to product owners.
6. Packaging Management: Create and manage packaging materials and documentation for production and shipment.
7. Production Procedure Enhancement: Review and improve production procedures, contributing to process optimization and documentation from a manufacturing perspective.

Verification Procedures: Develop and implement verification procedures (e.g., Acceptance Test Procedures, Hardware Test Procedures, Qualification Test Procedures) to ensure all production-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
9. Test Equipment Design: Assist in designing and producing test equipment, tools, and production aids to meet manufacturing process requirements.
10. Staff Training: Train production staff on new products, tools, and processes to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.
11. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and product enhancements, promoting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve efficiency and product quality.
12. Additional Support:





Perform minor support roles within the company as required.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

- BTech Degree / Advanced Diploma in Electronic, Mechatronic, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

Recommended Skills and Experience:

- 2-3 years of experience in an electronic assembly production environment.
- Familiarity with production procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry-standard ERP systems (ideally Odoo).
- Understanding of verification procedures (ATP, HTP, QTP) is desirable.
- Mechanical design skills and experience with packaging artifacts are advantageous.
