Business Directive Contract Service

The Purpose of this role is to assist the Financial Manager with Month End General Journals and Payroll Journals, conduct Monthly Reconciliations and perform optimum Bookkeeper Function up to Balance Sheet.
Basic duties include, but are not limited to bookkeeper functions as defined below :
- Reviewing the cashbooks and ensuring accuracy
- Reviewing Bank Reconciliation (Weekly and Monthly) and ensuring all payments has been reconciled.
- Monthly General Ledger Reconciliation
- Daily cashflow report preparation and maintenance
- Daily processing of all documentation according to the company requirements
- Reviewing Creditors Reconciliations and following up on account discrepancies
- Reviewing Debtor Reconciliations and following up on account discrepancies
- Reviewing payments batches and ensuring accuracy thereof before sending it to the Financial Manager for processing
- Meeting monthly deadlines
- Ensure creditors are paid on time
- Verify the accuracy of calculations
- Passing of monthly general journals and payroll journals
- Review the Bill to Pay on Xero ensuring that valid Supplier invoices are attached and that it has been allocated to the correct account
- Preparing of monthly management accounts (Income Statement with expense comparison)
- Balance Sheet recons
- Month end processing
- Maintain company Asset register
- Any Ad Hoc duties relating to the position
Experiences:
- At least 3 years' experience in the accounting field
- Intermediate Excel skills
- XERO and Payspace experience preferred
- Cashbook experience
- Creditors and Debtors experience
- Bookkeeping to Balance Sheet
- Good verbal skills and ability to work independent and in a team
- Should have knowledge of ethical accounting practices and ensure they are adhered to
- Should have good oral and written communication skills.
- Should have attention to detail and ability to work fast and accurate under pressure
Qualifications:
- Matric with Accounting (At least a 70% pass mark)
- Tertiary or equivalent qualification advantageous
