My Client, a well established entity and a leader in the Transportation and Logistics sector is looking to appoint a Tyre Controller at their Pretoria Operations
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 1: Maintaining tyre stock
- Maintain tyre stock movement and keep records thereof.
- Check quality of incoming and outgoing tyre stock.
- Issue tyre stock:
- Move and Navigate/Intasect systems - stock management
- Issue tyre stock according to the tyre stock list
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 2: Receive stock
- Conduct daily tyre surveys.
- Ensure that tyre stock received is according to the order placed.
- Check quantity of tyre stock received.
- Check quality of tyre stock received.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 3: Tyre Surveys
- Ensure tyre spot checks are done on coaches.
- Manage and oversee daily pressure checks and load on all relevant systems.
- Ensure thread depths are according to company policy and procedures.
- Ensure valve extensions and valve caps are according to company policy and procedures.
- Manage and oversee checks on wheel nuts and indicators on a daily basis.
- Ensure tyre rotations are done on services of coaches and detail logged on system.
- Manage and oversee rims are inspected for cracks and damages on a daily basis and the relevant course of action is taken.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 4: Tracking of tyres and rims
- Follow up on tyre change slips.
- Follow up on puncture repairs en route.
- Ensure all spare wheels and trailer spare wheels are accounted for and c-numbers co-inside.
- Ensure all damaged rims are replaced on daily basis with c-numbers provided.
- Complete daily check on tyre audits and rotation on system country wide (All Fleet).
- Ensure tyre scrap analyses are done on a weekly basis as well as any claims accounted for.
- Ensure tyre casings are analyzed on a weekly basis and paper trails are in order.
- Create F2 tyres and check that correct tyres are running on correct axles.
- Follow up on test tyres (km fitted – rotations – pressures – wheel positions –km removed).
- Complete a monthly tyre report to Management.
- Do a weekly inspection of tyre fitment equipment and safety equipment to ensure Tyre Fitters are able to carry out their duties.
- Tyre Fitters must wear correct clothing and safety wear.
- Manage the Tyre Fitters and all related Human Resource management in this regard.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 4: Effective utilisation of systems used at the Company
- Capture and ensure effective tyre control,
maintaining tyre stock movement and thorough record keeping on the Intasect/Navigator and Move systems
- Capture and ensure the correct information is loaded and reflects accurately on the Intasect/Navigator and Move systems always and on a continuous basis
- Tyre stock changes as well as any tyre related information must be captured on a daily basis on both the Intasect/Navigator and Move systems.
- Responsible to ensure that you have received training on both the Intasect/Navigator and Move systems or have provided training to direct reports.
- Responsible for effective utilisation, accurate capturing, and thorough record keeping on all systems relevant to perform daily tasks within department
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Valid Code 14 with PDP driver's license Experience:
Experience:
- 5 Years' experience working with tyres in a similar role/position
- Previous experience as a Tyre Controller is beneficial
- Computer literate
- Previous experience as stock controller is beneficial
Knowledge / Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of health and Safety regulation/policy and procedures.
- Must be willing to assist in general administration duties
- Ability to work independently and within teams when needed
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to handle conflict, difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
