Job Title: Chef De Partie
Location: Cape Town
Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef De Partie to join our team at Upper Union. The Chef De Partie will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef, Head Chef and the Sous Chefs in creating and preparing high-quality dishes in line with our restaurant's standards. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for food, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
KEY PERFORMACE AREAS
- Assisting in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes according to the menu and restaurant's standards
- Ensuring all food is prepared and cooked to the highest quality and presentation standards
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Monitoring food stock levels and assisting in ordering supplies as needed
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace in adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Chef De Partie or in a similar role
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating high-quality dishes
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Food hygiene and safety certification
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
