Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a dynamic Head of Finance to join their team.
Reporting to the CFO, responsibilities include:
Financial Leadership:
- Providing strategic financial leadership and direction to the finance team
- Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Collaborating with senior management to develop and execute the company''s financial strategy
Accounts Payable:
- Overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Implementing and maintaining effective vendor management practices
- Monitoring and managing cash flow to optimise working capital
Accounts Receivable:
- Managing the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections
- Developing and implementing credit policies and procedures to minimise bad debt
- Monitoring and reporting on accounts receivable aging and performance
Revenue Management:
- Overseeing revenue recognition processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
- Analysing revenue trends and providing insights to support business decision-making
- Collaborating with commercial and marketing teams to standardise reporting
Stock Management:
- Overseeing inventory management and control processes
- Ensuring accurate and timely recording of stock movements and valuations
- Monitoring stock levels and optimising inventory turnover
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Preparing and presenting financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Taking full ownership of annual and interim financial audits (internal and external)
- Working closely with FP&A; team to complete the annual budget cycle
- Identifying and executing automation opportunities
- Providing insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
- Ensuring full statutory compliance relating to indirect company taxes
- Being responsible for the integrity of all financial records
Qualifications and Experience:
- CA (SA) with 5+ years'' experience in managing a finance team
- Experience in e-commerce or retail industry is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations
- Strong general financial background with proven skills in financial accounting, budgeting and reporting, treasury, and cash flow management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
